Analysis of Pesticide Residues in Coffee - Our Commitment to Quality, Scope, and Strategy
Analyzing pesticide residues in food is a complex challenge, particularly given the existence of more than 1,200 different pesticides. While many laboratories offer broad-spectrum screening for fruits and vegetables, at CR3-Analytik, we take a more focused and higher-quality approach – specifically tailored to coffee.
What sets us apart:
We have deliberately specialized in the analysis of pesticides in coffee and take a unique, tailored approach that focuses on the real needs of the coffee industry. Our aim is to ensure the correct and valid detection of pesticides that are truly relevant to coffee.
To this end, we conduct a comprehensive risk assessment once a year, taking into account the following factors:
- Application spectrum of the pesticide
- Target crop of the pesticide
- Legal status in coffee cultivation (both in the country of origin and the importing country)
- Positive findings in previous years (e.g. reports from the German or European coffee associations, customers, or other laboratories)
In addition, we have performed a targeted risk analysis for 360 other potentially relevant pesticides. For 15 of these substances, we identified at least a low-level risk. These were then subjected to a thorough validation process tailored specifically to coffee – covering green coffee, roasted coffee, and coffee extracts. This is not just about detectability, but also about coffee-specific effects, which we analyze carefully.
Thanks to our many years of expertise, we are not only able to deliver reliable results, but also to interpret them with precision. We regularly share our knowledge through specialist articles, expert groups (such as DKV, ECF, DIN, ISO), and scientific publications – always with the aim of supporting the coffee industry with the most advanced analytical insights.
In short:
At CR3-Analytik, you receive a coffee-specific analytical service that efficiently targets the truly relevant residues and evaluates them with expertise. We are thus setting standards in pesticide analysis for coffee - better, more precise and more reliable.
